Replacement of the Big Chaudière Dam, originally built between 1910 and 1916 and located on the French River at Dokis First Nation Reserve, Dokis, Ontario. The French River Dam Complex is made up of 3 dams which control the outflow from Lake Nipissing and help maintain the water level and regulate the flow of water into the 105 km long French River.
The general scope of the Big Chaudière Dam Project is to construct new North and South dams close to the existing ones and remove the existing North and South dams. The project also includes blasting, rock fill and work on the access road.
